Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an agent and to provide a method both for decomposing dioxins whereby the decomposition of dioxins at low temperatures formerly regarded as impossible is made possible.
SOLUTION: The agent contains a compound represented by formula I (wherein R1 and R2 are each an alkyl, a cycloalkyl or an arylalkyl group provided they may combine with each other to form a ring). The method comprises contacting the agent with dioxins or a dioxins-containing substance.
