To provide an agent for reducing risk of disease onset resulting from non-dipper type infra-day blood pressure fluctuation, effectively reducing systolic blood pressure from night to early morning and reducing disease onset caused by infra-day blood pressure fluctuation risk liable to occur in morning in humans having a particular non-dipper type intra-day blood pressure fluctuation pattern, particularly healthy individuals exhibiting normal SBP and DBP values.
The reducing agent to be administered to the individuals contains a hydrolysate containing Val Pro Pro and Ile Pro Pro and obtained by hydrolyzing animal milk proteins, or concentrate of the hydrolysate. Accordingly, the agent is expected to reduce onset risk of many diseases caused by infra-day blood pressure fluctuation and liable to occur in morning, for example, cerebral infarction, myocardial infarction, myocardial ischemia, atherosclerosis, cardiac insufficiency, apoplexy, coronary artery disease and peripheral vascular disease.
