Title:
AGENT FOR REMOVING BIOLOGICAL FILM
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3769040
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a new compound (salt) comprising a specific amino-sugar, having a biological film-removing or degrading action, etc., effective for the therapy of intractable biological film infectious diseases caused by biological film-covered bacteria, and useful for biological film-removing agents, etc. CONSTITUTION: The new amino-sugar compound (salt) is represented by formula I [R is H, lower alkyl, lower alkylcarbonyl, (protected or substituted) amino acid residue; one of R1a, R1b is H and the other is OH; R2, R3 are H, lower alkyl], has a biological film-removing or degrading action, is useful for biological film-removing agents used for the therapy of intractable biological film infectious diseases caused by bacteria covered with the biological film, etc. The compound is obtained by protecting the hydroxyl and amino groups of D-glucosamine, azidizing the 6-position, reducing the produced compound of formula II (Ra is a hydroxyl group-protecting group; Rb is an amino-protecting group; one of X1, X2 is ORa, and the other is H), reducing the product, reacting the product with ROH, and subsequently removing the protecting group from the reaction product.
