The agitator 1 for molten metal has a shaft 2 whose inside is made into a ventilation path 22 through which a blowing gas can be circulated, and the ventilation path 22 is provided with a clogging prevention part 4 making the blowing gas pass through and further cutting-off the raise of molten metal. The clogging prevention part 4 can be formed in such a manner that the ventilation path 22 is disposed with a pipe material clogging the lower edge part and provided with one or more blowing-out holes 41 at the circumferential face.
