PURPOSE: To prevent the slippage of the peripheral edge of an inserting hole for a gas generator in the case of the expanding of an air bag by stretching out the peripheral edge of the inserting hole for the gas generator of the air bag radially inward from the inside diameter face of a pressing ring member, and forming a seam rising from the cloth surface of the air bag over the whole circumference of a stretched out part.

CONSTITUTION: In a device having a gas generator 14 fitted in an opening 15 at the middle of an intensive member 12 fixed to a steering handle 11, the intensive member 12 has the peripheral part of the opening 15 formed as an annular retainer part 19, and the peripheral edge 20 of an inserting hole for a gas generator of an air bag 17 is attached to the intensive member 12. A pressing ring member 22 is further attached to the upper face of the peripheral edge part 20, and fixed in a body to the intensive member 12 with rivets 24. A seam 26 rising from the surface of a cloth of the air bag 17 is formed over the whole circumference of a part stretching out radially inward from the inside diameter face 25 of the pressing ring member 22 on the peripheral part 20, and slippage occurring radially outward on the peripheral part 20 in the case of the expanding of the air bag can be prevented by abutting the seam 26 on the inside diameter part of the pressing ring member 22.
