Abstract:
PURPOSE: To improve installing workability of a housing body, and improve a reparing characteristic after an air bag is used in an air bag device having a structure to join a lid and the housing body together.
CONSTITUTION: An air bag swelling port 17 of a housing body 14 enclosing an air bag 15 and an inflater 16 is put in a condition of turning toward an opening 22 of an instrument panel 21, and claw parts 24 and projecting pieces 25 to engage with the opening by engaging force separable by expansive force of the air bag 15, are formed on a lid 23 which covers this opening 22 and has easily rupturable parts 23a, and long holes 26 are formed in one of the projecting pieces 25 or corresponding parts of the air bag swelling port 17, and pins 27 are formed on the other. The pins 27 and the long holes 26 are engaged with each other so as to be relatively movable in both directions of the lengthwise direction of the projecting pieces 25 and the projecting direction of the pins 27.
