Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air bag device for front passenger seat, in which reinforcing plate materials which are to be expanded respectively through hinge parts, are fixed to the undersurface of a dividable rupture-open part provided in an instrument panel cover, and which is easy to be manufactured and which has a high external design property and safety.
SOLUTION: In an air bag device 1 for front passenger seats, a dividable rupture-open part 30 is provided in an instrument panel cover 11 so that it faces an opening part 23 of an air bag case 20. Brittle parts are formed in profile parts 30a and a divided part 30b of the rupture-open part 30 by laser beam machining etc., and before the rupture-open part is divided at the divided part 30b, reinforcing plate materials provided with bent parts 34a engaging with hook parts 24 fixed to the side edges of an opening part of an air bag case, are fixed to the undersurfaces of post-rupture-open parts 31, 32. Thus, the rupture-open part is separated from each other from the divided part to be expanded when the bag is inflated to be expanded.
