To provide an air bag device in which a flange member is easily attached to an inflator without limiting inflator shape flexibility and besides, relative movement of the inflator and the flange member in an axial direction is surely restricted.
The air bag device includes: a columnar inflator for generating gas; an air bag inflating with the gas generated by the inflator; a retainer body to which the inflator is attached and fixed and which is provided with an insertion port in which the inflator can be inserted; and a flange member that includes an insertion port in which the inflator can be inserted and a flange surface extending toward the outside in the radial direction, and that is caulked or press-fitted to the inflator and restricts the movement of the inflator to one axial-direction end; and a holding member that restricts the movement of the inflator to the other end side in the axial direction. Also, the inflator is attached and fixed to the retainer body by bolting the retainer body and the flange member together.
