PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air bag folding structure in which an air bag can be speedily developed in a vehicle width direction, in which a passenger restraining surface can be formed even in an initial stage of developing, and in which productivity is excellent. SOLUTION: In an air bag device in which a rectangular mouth part 20 of an air bag 10 is fixed to an opening part in a case 16, the air bag 10 is spread to be flat to be roughly centered to the mouth part 20, both side parts 24 laterally exceeding a right and a left side extension lines L of the mouth part 20 are folded in such a way that folded pieces 24a and 24b are combined on the side of the case 16 in order by folding lines M roughly parallel to the side extension lines L, the air bag 10 is formed like a strip body 26 of a roughly similar width to the width of the mouth part 20, and an upper side 28 and a lower side 30 of the air bag 10 of the strip body 26 are respectively folded to be stored in the case 16.
