Abstract:
PURPOSE: To judge whether an air bag is unfolded or not in a short time after a collision by installing an unfoldment judging circuit which compares an impact value out of an arithmetic circuit with a threshold value out of a threshold value setting circuit and thereby judges whether the air bag is unfolded or not.
CONSTITUTION: An unfoldment judging circuit 10 compares an impact value C (t) out of an arithmetic circuit 5 with a threshold value out of a threshold value setting circuit, and when the impact value C (t) is larger than the threshold value, it is so judged that the air bag is unfolded, thus an unfolding switch 11 is turned to an on-state. When acceleration a (t) goes beyond H with time (th), it is judged as 'a high speed collision' during an interval till the acceleration a (t) comes to less than H from the time (th), so that the threshold value is changed to Eh in the midway. Then, at a time tonh1 when the impact value C (t) has exceeded this 'Eh,' it is so judged that the air bag is unfolded.
