The air bearing 2 includes the bearing body 3, and the bearing body 3 includes a plate-like member 4 formed into a rectangular plate shape with a bearing surface 41, and a rectangular plate-like lid member 5 attached to the back surface 42 of the bearing surface 41. In the bearing surface 41, a plurality of exhaust holes for discharging air are formed along the four sides of the bearing surface 41. In the back surface 42 of the bearing surface 41, a groove part 421 is formed along the four sides of the back surface 42. Each exhaust hole is communicated with the groove part 421, and the groove part 421 is covered by the lid member 5, thereby structuring a flow passage for exhaust.
