PURPOSE: To improve abrasion resisting properties at a crown part by using at least one cord rubbered layer covering around a carcass as an anti-tension layer having a defenite total anti-tention power in a tire having at least 2 ply layered carcass.

CONSTITUTION: In a tire having a carcass 1 composed of rubbered layers made of organic fiber cords such as nylon cords arranged to cross each other across the equator, at a cord angle of 25W60° to the equator of the tire, and formed in at 2 ply, or preferably 4 ply layered, at least one cord rubbered least layer surrounding the carcass 1 with its narrow width corresponding to 10W50% of the maximum width is used as an anti-tension layer. The anti-tension layer 2 is to arranged as the cord extends substantially parallel to said equator. Moreover, the anti-tension layer 2 is so provided as to make the total anti-tension power expressed by the product of the initial Young's modulus, a cross-sectional area, and the quantity of cord which bears the tension covering the whole width within the layer, to be more than 2,000kg.
