To provide an air blow device which reduces the consumption of compressed air and enables a fine adjustment and reproduction of a flow rate, and also provide an air blow method.
A nozzle 20 is arranged so that a blowing port 24 may be arranged to be adjacent to but not in contact with an air blow object 1 and the blowing port 24 may be arranged to be obliquely opposite to the conveying direction of the air blowing object 1. A plurality of small pores 22 are lined up in the direction of the width of the air blow object 1. Air blowing out from the small pores, which are the neighbors to each other, is overlapped slightly on the air blow object 1. The air blowing out from the blowing port 24 is deviated slightly from both sides of the direction of the width of the air blow object 1. The effective cross-sectional area S1 of a pipe 32 connecting a pressure-reducing valve 30 with the nozzle 20 and the totaled effective cross-sectional area S2 of the plurality of the small pores have a relation represented by an equation of 2S2≤S1≤3S2.
