Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide an air brake which provides a high brake force, in a moving body, such as a vehicle.
CONSTITUTION: Air guide vanes 1A and 1B mounted on the car bodies A and B of a running body and retracted and protruded outwardly of a car body and an air flow passage 1-5 situated downward from the guide vanes and extending approximately at right angles with a running direction are provided. Further, a protrusion wall of a car retractable and protrusion outward from the car body is arranged to a protrusible and retractable protrusion plate for guiding an air flow arranged in an inverted opened angle-shaped in front of the protrusion wall are provided. Further, the protrusion wall of a car body which is retractable and protrusible outward from the car body, the end part of the car body and an air suction port formed in front thereof are provided, and air is sucked by means of the suction port and a coupling part between rolling stockes.
