PURPOSE: To make it possible to select favorable operation freely by enabling the selection of three types of operation modes which include upper and lower first mode with a different rate of an upper blowoff air capacity and a different rate of a lower blowoff air capacity and upper and lower blowoff second mode.
CONSTITUTION: When a switch over means 2 is operated by one switch. three types of operation modes comprising upper blowoff mode, upper and lower blowoff first mode and upper and lower second mode are consecutively changed over. When the upper blowoff mode is selected. the air is blown off from a blowoff port formed on the upper part of an air conditioner main body. When the upper and lower blowoff first mode is selected, a damper drive device 7 opens a damper 10 while a fan drive device 6 drives a lower fan 9 simultaneously so that the air is blown off from a lower blowoff port. Both the upper and lower blowoff air capacities at that time are controlled so that the upper blow- off air capacity may exceed the lower blowoff air capacity. When the upper and lower second mode is selected, the rate of the upper blowoff air capacity is controlled so that it may be smaller than that of the lower blowoff air capacity.
