PURPOSE: To improve receiving/delivery capacity and reliability by arranging a stacker crane running path facing an air field, cargo storing shelves at the opposite sides thereof and a cargo receiving device at the end of the running path, and mounting a fork telescopable in the direction of the shelves onto the stacker crane.

CONSTITUTION: Cargo carried to a picking site 2 is carried through a cargo receiving device 51 and transferred to a waiting stacker crane 53. Then it is carried by the stacker crane 53 to a storing shelf 5' and contained by a fork (not shown in fig.) mounted on the stacker crane 53 into the storing shelf 5'. The cargo is taken out by the fork of the stacker crane 53 onto the stacker crane 53 which is carried to a cargo feed-out device 50 and loaded onto an aircraft. With such arrangement, receiving/delivery capacity and reliability can be improved.
