Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate maintenance of mounting/demounting work, cleaning and replacement of an element, etc., in an air cleaner for an internal combustion engine.
SOLUTION: An air cleaner case 14 is constituted by a structure divided into three parts of a bottom wall (base end wall) 15 having an air outlet 22 connected to an intake air passage in a carburetor side, a body 16 of both-end opened shape having an air intake port 40, and a cover 17 connected capable of mounting/demounting to the other opened end of the body 16. The cover 17, arranged in an upper end, can be mounted/demounted by a bolt 25 and a mounting nut 37, this cover 17 is formed with a recessed part 44 storing the mounting nut 37, a drain hole 50 is formed in this recessed part 44. In an internal combustion engine arranging the air cleaner 4 in an upper side of a carburetor 5, the drain hole 50 of the recessed part 44 is positioned almost just above a fuel flow regulating screw 11 of the carburetor 5, a tool for screw driving inserted from above the drain hole 50 can be engaged with the fuel flow regulating screw 11.
