PURPOSE: To prevent the introduction of dust or snow into an air cleaner for an internal combustion engine in a rear engine bus or the like, by providing two intake air ducts for the summer season and the winter season in the air cleaner so that the intake air ducts are properly used in accordance with seasonal circumstances.
CONSTITUTION: Intake air passes through the inside of an air filter, taking a channel as indicated by arrows, during engine operation. A slide shutter 8 is arranged in contact with the inner surface of the peripheral wall of an intake air cylinder 2, slidably in the circumferential direction of the intake cylinder 2, and is secured thereto with bolts 9. An air cleaner is arranged in a suitable position of an engine for directing an intake air duct 3 for the summer period in the direction of the forward movement of a vehicle so that intake air may be efficiently introduced into the air cleaner through the summer intake air duct 3 directed forward, in summer or through a winter intake duct 4 directed rearward without the risk of the introduction of snow, in winter.
