Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3239153
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To supply clean air to a sidewalk by a method wherein pipe lines connected to air outlets are laid on the bottom of soil to clean polluted air using plantings and soil.
CONSTITUTION: When fans 23 are operated, air in a gravel layer 25 is sucked into perforated pipes 17 and blown out from air outlets 19 via connecting pipes 21. As the air in the gravel layer 25 is sucked, polluted air is sucked from the surface of soil 15 and flows toward the gravel layer 25. While the polluted air passes through the soil 15, particulates are caught and impurities including hydrocarbons such as methane are adsorbed by the physical action of the soil as a filter. As a result, clean air after pollutants are removed is supplied on to a sidewalk 3 form the air outlets 19.
