To provide an energy-saving air cleaner for a vehicle having an illumination function capable of effectively using illumination.

The air cleaner 1 for the vehicle has a fan 20, filters 31a, 31b and 33 through which air circulated by the fan 20 passes, LEDs 51a, 51b which are light sources for illumination, and a control unit 71 capable of controlling the light sources 51a, 51b. The control unit 71 includes a door cooperating function 41 to turn on/off the light sources 51a, 51b in conjunction with the opening/closing of a vehicle door and a power saving function 42 to turn on the light sources 51a, 51b only for a predetermined time by responding to the opening of the vehicle door by the door cooperating function 41 during a stop of a vehicle engine and then to forcedly turn off the light sources 51a, 51b.
