Abstract:
PURPOSE: To optionally set intake resistance for the whole air cleaner by interposing a predetermined number of filter elements attachably and detachably between a cap plate and a mounting block to be mounted on an objective apparatus such as a carburetor.
CONSTITUTION: In an air cleaner to be mounted on the carburetor 1 of the engine of a motorcycle, a predetermined number of, for example, three filter elements 12 are sandwiched attachably and detachably between a cap plate 21 and mounting blocks 15 (15a-15c) to be mounted on the carburetor 1. The filter element 12 is an annular body having an opening 18 in the center part and is made of porous material having air permeability. The abovementioned parts 21, 12, 15 are fitted into an integrated one by screwing the screw part of a bolt 19 inserted into the bolt hole 21a of the cap plate 21, into the screw hole 15c of the mounting block 15, and intake resistance is increased or reduced by adjusting the number of elements 12.
