PURPOSE: To provide an air cleaning agent which has adsorbing and deodorizing effects widely to the respective bad smell components showing acidity to basic which bad smells such as a scent of tabacco, garbage smell and toilet smell contain and can be used for deodorizing the whole smell of living, and a deodorizing filter for an air cleaner using the above air cleaning agent.

CONSTITUTION: An air cleaning agent contains alkali component, in which activated charcoal where a small cavity is developed and activated charcoal where a malic acid and an iron salt are impregnated are mixed. A deodorizing filter is formed by bearing the above air cleaning agent on a substrate.
