The air cleaning apparatus 1 for cleaning the air by using the ozone includes: an intake part 2 for taking-in the air; a discharge part 5 for discharging the air; an air flow passage 7 formed from the intake part 2 to the discharge part 5 inside the air cleaning apparatus 1; an ozone deodorizer 11 for generating the ozone; and an odor control part 14 for detecting the odor in the air and controlling the amount of supply of the ozone by the ozone deodorizer 11. The amount of the generation of the ozone from the ozone deodorizer 11 is set to be the amount corresponding to the fluctuating odor concentration of the air, thereby effectively cleaning the air and also preventing an adverse effect on a human body by the high-concentration ozone.
