To provide an air cleaning filter which can well perform dust removal, chemical substance removal, and bacteria removal in spite of its simple structure and can be fabricated at a relatively low cost and to provide an air cleaner provided therewith.
The air cleaning filter 12 comprises a filter base laminate formed by laminating a plurality of filter bases 30 each of which is prepared by forming a film of a charcoal powder and an iodine compound on the surface of a honeycomb- or corrugated-board- structure plate-like member 28 having many air passageways 26 passing from one end to the other end and on the inner surfaces of the air passageways 26 in a manner that the passageways 26 of the plurality of filter bases mutually shift in any two adjoining bases. The air cleaner 10 is provided with the air cleaning filter 12.
