Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air compressor capable of reducing the replacement frequency of a filter provided on an air intake hole for taking the air in a crankcase.SOLUTION: An air compressor 1 comprises: a pair of air tanks 2a and 2b storing compressed air; a compression unit 3 compressing the air taken from outside and supplying the compressed air into the air tanks 2a and 2b; and a motor 4 coupled to the compression unit 3 and driving the compression unit 3. An air intake port 30b for taking the air in a crankcase 30 is provided in a crankcase cover 30a of the compression unit 3. A filter 10a is provided on the air intake port 30b for preventing entry of powder dust and the like into the crankcase 30. The powder dust and the like adhering to the filter 10a are blown off by injecting the compressed air into the crankcase 40 by way of a reverse injection pipe 12 extending from the air tank 2b into the crankcase 40. A reverse injection valve 11 is used to switch over between injection and non-injection.
