PURPOSE: To keep substantially constant the volume of discharged air and its temperature and facilitate energy saving by providing a damper control device which opens and closes a damper by an access sensor and controlling variably the capacities of a compressor and fan of an air conditioner according to the number of times of opening said damper.
CONSTITUTION: When one of man detecting sensors S1WS7 detects a worker F, the damper of dampers P1WP7 which corresponds to the one of work areas E1WE7 which corresponds to said access sensor opens and the one of air discharge ports M1WM7 which corresponds to said damper opens to discharge cold air. On the other hand if the worker F leaves said work area of the work areas E1WE7, said access sensor of the sensors S1WS7 does not detect man, and the damper of the dampers P1WP7 that corresponds to said work area opens and said air discharge ports is closed to stop discharging cold air. Further, a CPU outputs control signals which variably controls stepwise the capacity of an indoor fan 5 and of compressor 4 from output ports C1WCK and D1WDL to an inverter drive circuits 13 and 14 according to the number of openings of the air discharge ports M1WM7, that is the number of openings of the dampers P1WP7.
