An air conditioner 1 includes an indoor heat exchanger 2, an outdoor heat exchanger 3, a liquid pipe 4 and a gas pipe 5, through both of which a refrigerant circulates between the indoor heat exchanger 2 and the outdoor heat exchanger 3, a directional control valve 8 provided in an intermediate portion of the gas pipe 5, a compressor 6 having a suction pipe 9 and a discharge pipe 7, which are connected to the directional control valve 8, and a regenerative heat exchanger 15 connected parallely to the indoor heat exchanger 2. The air conditioner 1 is also provided with a heat exchanger 36 for feeding hot water, in which the refrigerant discharged from the discharge pipe 7 of the compressor 6 exchanges heat with water, and a hot water storage tank 37 in which water to circulate into the heat exchanger 36 for feeding hot water is stored.
