To provide an air conditioner modification method by which an amount of use of steam or fossil fuels can be reduced only by modifying an existing air conditioner, and the running costs of the air conditioner and CO2 emissions therefrom can be suppressed as a result.
The typical air conditioner modification method is for modifying an air conditioner (air conditioner 100) for treating outside air which includes at least: a preheater coil 108 using steam to heat air; steam type humidifiers 110a and 110b using steam to humidify the air; a cooling coil 112 using cold water to cool the air; and a reheat coil 114 using steam to reheat the air. The air conditioner modification method is characterized in that in addition to a cold water supply pipe 134 for supplying the cooling coil with cold water, a warm water supply pipe 234 for supplying the cooling coil with warm water is added, and a switch valve (first switch valve 202a) for alternatively communicating the cold water supply pipe or the warm water supply pipe with the cooling coil is added.
