Abstract:

To independently control refrigerant flow to each of indoor units by connecting each section of condensers of outdoor units with a corresponding evaporator of an indoor unit.

Gaseous refrigerant discharged from a compressor 11 of an outdoor unit 10 passes through each of sections 13 of a condenser 12 via a common compressed refrigerant pipe and three compressed refrigerant pipes 32 to effect heat exchange between the gaseous refrigerant and outdoor air. Then, liquid refrigerant is formed. The liquid refrigerant is directed via three liquid refrigerant pipes 33 into corresponding evaporators 21 of an indoor unit 20. In the evaporators 21 heat exchange between the refrigerant and indoor air is effected so that the refrigerant becomes gaseous refrigerant having a low pressure. Each of the expansion valves 15 is controlled according to signals from a temperature detector 50 to control flow of the refrigerant to the indoor unit 20. The gaseous refrigerant having a low pressure which has passed through the three gaseous refrigerant pipes 34 and an equalizing device 40 joins together in a common gaseous refrigerant pipe 35. The gaseous refrigerant having a constant pressure is returned to the compressor 11.
