To provide an air conditioner capable of easily loading a space recognition device therein, and performing detection of high accuracy from short distance to long distance by preventing degradation of recognizing performance and operational reliability of the space recognition device due to influence by dust.
An indoor unit is provided with the space recognition device 30 which has a sensor section 32 and a sensor casing 36, and in which the sensor section 32 is composed of a sensor 40, a supporting body 42 for supporting the sensor 40, and a horn 44 positioned at a front direction of the sensor 40 and formed integrally with the supporting body 42, the sensor casing 36 has an opening section 37, the supporting body 42 is disposed in a state of facing the opening section 37, and the supporting body 42 is rotatably held by the sensor casing 36, and wind direction changing blades 12, 14 are controlled according to a condition of an air-conditioned space to perform the air-conditioning operation.
