To provide an air conditioner for a vehicle which can give comfortability to occupants efficiently.
The air conditioner 1 for a vehicle provided on the ceiling 11 of the vehicle includes: an inside air duct 2, which forms a ventilation passage in the ceiling 11 of the vehicle; a heat supplying body 4, which supplies cold to the air in the inside air duct 2; and an inside air fan 3, which gives flow to the air in the inside air duct 2. An inside air inlet 2a1, which takes air from a cabin 12 of the vehicle 10 into the duct 2, and an inside air outlet 2b1, which can blow out air from inside the duct 2 to the cabin 12, are formed in the inside air duct 2. The inside air inlet 2a1 and the inside air outlet 2b1 are set up so as to have a position and a direction of an opening that enables at least a part of air blown out from the inside air outlet 2b1 to the cabin 12 to flow into the inside air inlet 2a1 along the ceiling 11 of the vehicle.
