To provide an air conditioner for a vehicle capable of suppressing spread of infectious diseases through the vehicle.SOLUTION: An air conditioner 10 for a vehicle is equipped with a switching damper 11, a blower 12, a cooler 13, a heater 14, and a sterilizing heater 15. The switching damper 11 is configured to take in air in a vehicle inside 16 in an inside air circulation mode and to take in air in a vehicle outside 17 in an outside air introduction mode. The blower 12 blows air introduced by the switching damper 11. The cooler 13 cools the air blown by the blower 12. The heater 14 heats the air blown by the blower 12. The sterilizing heater 15 heats the air blown by the blower 12 to a temperature at which viruses contained in the air are sterilized.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
