This air conditioner is provided with a radiation surface 5 for performing radiation air conditioning from the back of a backrest part of a seat backward to the rear seat, and a console panel 8 for operating start/stop of the radiation surface 5 and controlling the temperature is installed on the upper surface of an armrest 2. A passenger performs the start/stop of air conditioning by radiation from the radiation surface 5 and controlling the temperature of the radiation surface 5 by the console panel 8, and conducts operation of the radiation surface 5 and the surface temperature control according to the operation information input to the console panel 5 to perform radiation air conditioning, so that air conditioning by radiation can be given not to feel discomfortable due to discharged air, and further operating the start/stop of the radiation surface 5 and the surface temperature can be freely operated. Thus, individual differences in feeling warm and cool can be corrected separately and the individual differences of the adjacent seats can be reduced.
