Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner with air purifying function capable of efficiently purifying room air and also removing malodor generated in a duct.
SOLUTION: This air conditioner with air purifying function is provided with the duct 1 having an air introducing port 11 and an air jetting port 16, a cooler 2 provided in the duct 1 and an air purifying device 40 having a heater 3, a blower 6, a thin film 4 of titanium dioxide provided in the duct 1 and formed on the surface in contact with air flowing in the duct 1 and a light emitting diode 5 emitting ultraviolet rays. The thin film 4 of titanium dioxide is activated by the ultraviolet rays emitted from the light emitting diode 5 and the malodor components and smoke components contained in the air flowing in the duct are decomposed and removed by the strong oxidative effect of the activated thin film 4 to purify the air. The air conditioner has a function to purify the air in addition to the function of usual control of air temp. or the like and performs comfortable air conditioning.
