Abstract:

To provide an air conditioner in which an adsorption type freezing cycle and an steam compression type freezing cycle are combined to improve the efficiency in thermal storage operation as well as normal operation, and always provide comfortable cooling/heating air conditioning.

The air conditioner comprises: a steam compression type freezing cycle 1; an adsorption type freezing cycle 2; a heat medium circulating circuit 3 which is provided with a discharge heat exchanger 17 near a discharge part of a compressor 5, a condensation heat exchanger 15 between an outdoor heat exchanger 7 and a pressure reduction device 8 and a suction heat exchanger 16 near a suction part of the compressor, and switches and circulates a heat medium between the adsorption type freezing cycle, and the discharge heat exchanger, condensation heat exchanger and suction heat exchanger; and a controlling part 4, wherein the controlling part 4 has cooling/heat storage operation mode of circulating the heat medium between the discharge heat exchanger and an adsorption unit 10 and guiding the heat of a gas discharged from the compressor from the discharge heat exchanger to the adsorption unit to heat an adsorbent to desorp an adsorptive material, as well as circulating the heat medium between the suction heat exchanger and a condensation unit 11 and guiding the coldness of a refrigerant sucked into the compressor from the suction heat exchanger to the condensation unit to condense and liquefy the adsorptive material.
