When clothing drying operation is started, a control unit 20 outputs a first drive signal to a compressor driving circuit 28. A relay 45 is turned ON to turn a compressor 4 ON. After the elapse of a predetermined time, the control unit 20 outputs a second drive signal to a heater driving circuit 29 to turn switching elements 42 and 43, a relay 46 and a heater 16 ON. When the clothing drying operation is stopped, the control unit 20 stops the output of the second drive signal to turn the relay 46 and the heater 16 OFF. Thereafter, the output of the first drive signal is stopped and the relay 45 is turned OFF to stop the compressor 4.
