To provide a usable air conditioner capable of effectively eliminating or inactivating mold, bacteria and virus in safety and cleaning the air.
On the filter 1, magnetic field is formed by holding fine particle magnetic ferrite 12 on a non-woven fabric 11. Floating matters 2 such as mold, bacteria and virus floating in the air cross the magnetic field when the floating matters 2 pass through or are captured by the filter 1, thus potential difference generates on the floating matters 2 by action of electromagnetic induction, electric current flows, and cells are decomposed and eliminated. Thus the floating matters 2 can be completely eliminated and inactivated without using an agent. Not only the matters attached to the filter 1 which can be eliminated by a conventional method, but also the floating matters 2 in the air passing through the filter 1 can be eliminated.
