To provide an air conditioner of high usability and reliability, having a filter automatic cleaning unit from which a user can easily demount a dust collecting box, and on which the user can surely mount the dust collecting box.
In this air conditioner, the cleaning unit includes a supporting body 11 and a dust collecting box assembly, a dust scraping-off section 25 of the dust collecting box assembly has a shaft 8 engaged with a mounting hole 18 of the supporting body 11 on its one end in the horizontal direction, and has a stopper 7 engaged with a fixing hole 10 of the supporting body 11 and horizontally movable forward and backward by a spring 5 on the other end in the horizontal direction. A chamfer section 6 kept into contact with a contact section of the supporting body 11 is formed on a face on a supporting body 11 side, of a tip of the stopper 7, so that the chamfer section 6 is brought into contact with the contact section of the supporting body 11 by pressing the stopper 7 to the supporting body 11 side, thus the spring 5 is contracted, and the stopper 7 is moved inward, and then engaged with the fixing hole 10 of the supporting body 11.
