To provide an air conditioner operated in an operation mode suitable for a user's preference.
This air conditioner has: a temperature memorizing means B6 for memorizing an indoor set temperature, an indoor temperature, and an outdoor suction temperature of an outdoor unit (not shown in the figure); an operation mode determining means B4 determining cooling, dehumidifying or heating in an automatic operation on the basis of an indoor suction temperature of an indoor unit (not shown in figure), the outdoor suction temperature, and the set temperature memorized in the temperature memorizing means B6; and a manual mode change detecting means B5 detecting that the operation mode is manually changed by the user during the operation in the mode determined by the operation mode determining means B4. In the case where the operation mode is manually changed from cooling to heating or in reverse, a threshold value for determining the operation mode is corrected on the basis of the indoor suction temperature, the outdoor suction temperature, and the indoor set temperature at that time. Thus the air conditioner is operated in the operation mode suitable for the user's preference from the next operation, and the comfortableness is improved.
