To provide an air conditioner that can more efficiently purify an air-conditioned space than an existing microorganism reproduction prevention method adapted for microorganisms existing on object surfaces and in storage spaces which generates such an extremely unstable ion as has an extremely short life and is changed to a stable substance before being sprayed to an object to insufficiently prevent the reproduction of the microorganisms.
In the air conditioner, an indoor unit 11 includes an electrostatic atomizer 16 including a Peltier element for generating condensation water from water in air and a discharge electrode for generating water particles from the condensation water generated by the Peltier element via a high applied voltage, and an ultrasonic generator 18 for sending out ultrasonic waves to a space where the water particles from the electrostatic atomizer float.
