Abstract:

To accurately determine the refrigerant filled state in an air conditioner regardless of environmental and installation conditions.

This air conditioner includes a refrigerant reservoir for refrigerant supply. Piping from the refrigerant reservoir is branched through a refrigerant filling on-off valve, and one piping is connected between a secondary side passage of a refrigerant heat exchanger and a load side heat exchanger through a check valve or an on-off valve, while the other piping is connected between a heat source side heat exchanger and a primary side passage of the refrigerant heat exchanger through a check valve or an on-off valve. A condenser liquid phase area ratio is computed by dividing the heat transfer area of a liquid phase of a high pressure side heat exchanger acting as a condenser, by the heat transfer area of the high pressure side heat exchanger, and opening/closing of the refrigerant filling on-off valve is controlled based on the condenser liquid phase area ratio.
