Abstract:

To provide an air conditioner capable of eliminating electric power consumption in an outdoor unit and elongating the service life of components in each circuit of the outdoor unit.

A control circuit 23 of the outdoor unit 2 determines whether or not a compressor stop condition is achieved based on an operation mode received from an indoor unit 1 and temperature information. When the compressor stop condition is achieved, the control circuit 23 stops a compressor 25 and transmits compressor stop information from a communication circuit 24 to the indoor unit 1. A control circuit 14 of the indoor unit 1 turns off a relay switch 13 to shut off connection between a commercial power source 5 and the outdoor unit 2 when the compressor stop information is received.
