To provide an air conditioner capable of quickly sending air having been treated into a room and of easily responding to a request to increase the blowoff air volume in a specific direction and to decrease the blowoff air volume in another specific direction.

On the top part of a housing 10 of an ion generator 1, a first blowoff opening 14 whose main blowoff direction is toward the front and a second blowoff opening 15 whose main blowoff direction is toward the above are provided and air discharged from a fan 16 is guided thereto through a duct 17. The first blowoff opening 14 is provided with a louver 25 the elevation and depression angles of which can be varied and from the louver 25, a baffle plate 26 that interferes therewith protrudes. When the louver 25 is at first elevation and depression angles, the baffle plate 26 widens the air passage to the first blowoff opening 14 to increase the air volume distributed to the first blowoff opening 14 and when the louver 25 is at second elevation and depression angles, the baffle plate 26 narrows the air passage to the first blowoff opening 14 to decrease the air volume to be distributed to the first blowoff opening 14.
