To provide an air conditioner using a coolant with a low warming coefficient, in which energy efficiency is high even if an operating condition of an atmospheric temperature is above 50 °C and reliability is improved.
In the air conditioner, a mixed refrigerant mainly comprising R32 and HFO-1234yf or HFO-1234ze, in which the concentration of R32 is equal to or less than 60%, is contained. The refrigerant circulates through a refrigerating cycle which is formed by connecting a compressor 1, a condenser 3, a decompressor 4, and an evaporator 6. The refrigerating cycle is configured so that the coolant condenses at the atmospheric temperature of above 50 °C. Even when the atmospheric temperature is above 50°C, the discharge temperature of the compressor becomes equivalent to current R-410A at high efficiency, so that reliability of the refrigerating cycle can be improved. The warming coefficient of the coolant is low, so that warming impact can be reduced even when the coolant leaks into the atmosphere.
