An air conditioner includes: a refrigerant circuit that includes a compressor, a refrigerant switching device, an indoor heat exchanger, a refrigerant decompression device, and an outdoor heat exchanger; an indoor blower fan blowing out the air subjected to heat exchange by the indoor heat exchanger into an indoor space; a flow direction control plate controlling a flow direction of the air blown out into the indoor space; a blowout temperature sensor detecting a temperature of the air blown out by the indoor blower fan; and a control device that controls a rotation speed of the compressor to be increased to a maximum rotation speed if the temperature of the blown air detected by the blowout temperature sensor does not reach a predetermined temperature, and controls a rotation speed of the indoor blower fan to be decreased if the temperature of the blown air does not reach the predetermined temperature even if the compressor is rotated for predetermined time at the maximum rotation speed.
