An air conditioner includes a constant speed compressor 21 and an inverter-type compressor 22 having rotary compression elements stored in closed vessels 41,31. The constant speed compressor 21 is started when a load increases during operation of the inverter-type compressor 22, and the respective closed vessels 41,31 of the constant speed compressor 21 and the inverter-type compressor 22 are fixed with a fixing member 60 at their outer peripheries.
