PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control the operation of an air conditioner without a remote controller as operation means, by utilizing means for detecting a human body.SOLUTION: An air conditioner according to an embodiment includes a CMOS image sensor, shape recognition means, and operation control means. The shape recognition means recognizes a predetermined shape by the CMOS image sensor. The operation control means controls the operation of the air conditioner on the basis of the shape recognized by the shape recognition means.
