PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a refrigerant filling amount in an air conditioner without causing problems such as performance deterioration and inoperability.SOLUTION: An air conditioner comprises: an outdoor unit disposed outdoors; an indoor unit disposed indoors; piping provided between the outdoor unit and the indoor unit and configured to circulate a refrigerant; and a throttling device to decompress the refrigerant, which is circulated in the piping as a liquid refrigerant, for lowering the density of the refrigerant to compensate for shortage of the refrigerant in the outdoor unit or the indoor unit.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
