Abstract:
To provide an air conditioner capable of preventing a component from being destroyed by regenerative power of a fan motor caused by the outside wind generated by an outdoor unit during standby, while reducing standby power.SOLUTION: In an outdoor unit 20 with a control part 13 in a sleep mode, an abnormal voltage protection part 30 transfers the control part 13 from the sleep mode to a protection mode when a DC voltage value becomes equal to or more than an interruption threshold, and short-circuits both ends of a coil of a fan motor 10 to consume regenerative power when the DC voltage value becomes equal to or more than a short-circuit threshold. The abnormal voltage protection part 30 also transfers the control part from the protection mode to the sleep mode when the DC voltage value is less than the short-circuit threshold and when the fluctuation of the DC voltage value tends to decrease, thereby preventing a component from being destroyed by regenerative power of the fan motor caused by the outside wind, while reducing standby power and increasing reliability of an air conditioner.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
