Abstract:
To provide an air conditioner which can prevent soiling of a drain pan caused by a cleaning cooling operation.SOLUTION: A drain pan 36 includes a water holding section 37d for temporarily storing dew condensation water dripped from an indoor heat exchanger 32, and a clearance 37e through which the dew condensation water stored in the water holding part 37d is discharged to a drain pan 36 outside the water holding section 37d, where a discharge capacity of dew condensation water through the clearance 37e is set smaller than the amount of dew condensation water that is produced in the indoor heat exchanger 32 due to a cleaning cooling operation. The dew condensation water which has been generated in the indoor heat exchanger 32 due to a cleaning cooling operation and dripped to the water holding section 37d is temporarily stored and then is discharged to the outside of the water holding section 37d. Dust adhering to the water holding part 37d by the cleaning cooling operation is caused to float by the stored dew condensation water and dust-containing dew condensation water is discharged to the outside of the water holding section 37d. It can be prevented that a large amount of dust remains in the drain pan 36 and soils the drain pan 36 after the cleaning cooling operation.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
